The 2nd Conference on Rethinking the Future of Sustainability 2024 (ReTHINK 2024) was organised by UMPSA Holdings on 12th September 2024 at Royale Chulan, Kuala Lumpur. The theme of the conference was "Emerging Trends in Smart Agriculture and Plantations". The key event of the conference was the launching of the OUDino Agarwood Inoculant which is a product of Sybion Sdn. Bhd., subsidiary of UMPSA Holdings. In conjunction with the conference, Synbion Sdn. Bhd. has sealed the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with United Agarwood Planters Inc., to embark on a collaborative journey aimed at fostering innovation and promoting sustainable development across the respective sectors. The launching of the OUDino was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education during the conference.

(Iba), a Philippines-based agriculture company.⁣ ⁣ This signifies a significant milestone in regional cooperation, particularly between Malaysia and the Philippines. The partnership with Iba holds strategic importance, given Iba's reputation as a frontrunner in producing high-value botanicals, such as agarwood, for global markets. ⁣ ⁣ The MoU was signed by the Group Chief Executive Officer of UMP Holdings Group cum Chairman of Synbion, Tuan Syed Alwi bin Mohamed Sultan and Ben Mead, the Chief Executive Officer of Iba Botanicals Inc. ⁣ ⁣ The signing was witnessed by Tan Sri Nazir Razak, Chairman of ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mustafa Mohamed, Chairman of B2B Initiative (ASEAN BAC), Joey Concepcion III, Chairman of ASEAN-BAC Philippines and Professor Dr Saiful Nizam Tajuddin, Director of Synbion. ⁣ ⁣ Leveraging cutting-edge research and development, the OUDino product is a biotechnology invention, which represents a significant milestone and testament of UMPSA’s ongoing commitment to driving research and development inventions and technology commercialisation. ⁣ ⁣ “Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success” - Henry Ford.

UMPSA Gambang, in collaboration with UMP Holdings, has won the Diamond Award in the Low Carbon Cities Award Ceremony 2023, having attained a 3 Diamond rating. This event was organised by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC) yesterday. The award was presented by His Excellency Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change. Tn. Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan, Group Chief Executive Officer of UMP Holdings Group, represented UMPSA Gambang and accepted the award on behalf. Under the Low Carbon City 2030 Challenge (LCC2030C) programme, this is an initiative by the government to achieve the target of establishing 200 Low Carbon Zones and 1,000 Low Carbon Partners in all the 155 local authorities in Malaysia. For the record, this is the first time that UMPSA Gambang has participated in this programme, resulting in a commendable success.
